Srinagar, February 25 (KNO) : Former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah Monday cautioned Government of India of ‘any misadventure of fiddling with Article 35A' which will have far reaching consequences. According to KNO correspondent, Omar Abdullah referred to situation in Arunachal Pradesh saying that people there are protesting to safeguard their permanent resident status. "AP has no militancy, no stone pelting still they are on roads and I must warn you that any fiddling with Article 35A will have far reaching consequences in the state," Omar said. "The situation in J&K will be worse than Arunachal Pradesh. It’s my duty to warn you that your thinking is not right,” he said, adding that the issue of Article 35A and Article 370 should be left for people of the state to decide and nothing should be tried to impose over them. "GoI's responsibility is to hold the elections and then rest is up to the government of the state to decide and to defend the article. Governor also should leave this for the people to decide," he said. Omar was addressing party workers were former bureaucrat Farooq Shah had to join the party formally after resigning from services. “I have joined politics to serve people and will pursue this cause for the rest of my life now,” Farooq Shah said.(KNO)
